Get to know the DUAL Australia Liability Team!

We are thrilled to introduce our dedicated Liability Team, further enhancing our commitment to exceptional service following the recent updates to our Liability wordings and expanded appetite.

Darren Hayes, our Head of Liability, is a conscientious and self-motivated Underwriting Manager & Senior Liability underwriter with extensive experience in liability case underwriting, portfolio and product management across a diverse range of clients and industries within the mid-tier and corporate arena, including ‘hard to place’.

Former Head of GL for QBE, Darren recently joined DUAL in April 2023 and is responsible for the overall technical underwriting, portfolio management and head of general liability lines across DUAL Australia. Darren has a particular passion for servicing his clients and brokers with whom he conducts business and is committed to leverage his qualifications and experience to support the objectives of his clients.

Fun fact: In his spare time, Darren loves paddle boarding around The Spit, Middle Harbour. He also enjoys dining and holidaying with family & friends.

Meet Russell McCauley, our Senior Liability Underwriter, who recently joined DUAL Australia in March 2024. Russell has worked in the insurance industry since 2006 across a number of underwriting & claims roles in the Australian, Ireland and UK markets. Most recently, Russell held liability underwriting roles at ATC Insurance Solutions and Brooklyn Underwriting and is excited to join the DUAL team.

Fun fact: Originally from Dublin, Russell first moved to Australia in 2011 and quickly settled into the Aussie lifestyle. Russell is a keen sports fan & can regularly be found on the golf course working on his handicap (when not working on liability risks!).
